Project Brief

With an aging, non-Microsoft based messaging infrastructure that had been poorly maintained, the customer was looking for a way to update to cutting-edge technology, and enhance their functionality and productivity with the introduction of new tools. The customer also wanted to roll-out technology to areas of the business that didn’t previously have any IT infrastructure due to prohibitive licence and support costs. The transition should pave the way for an additional 70,000 employees to benefit from collaboration services where appropriate, with an increase in monthly licence charges only.

Delivery

Our newly recruited specialists evaluated the customer’s existing estate including messaging and core infrastructure, network, security and compliance requirements, and business requirements for the present and the future, before making the recommendation to move to Microsoft Online Services. A business case was put together evaluating the cost of upgrading the existing hosted infrastructure and expanding capabilities with the current vendor, against the implementation and on-going licence costs of the Microsoft Online Service.

Once the business case was approved, our specialists led the existing IT teams and provided the expertise and governance to deploy and configure the Microsoft Online service, working closely with Microsoft to migrate the 28,000 users over an 8 week period.
